After-School Lead (French Speaking)

Lead daily after-school programming rooted in outdoor play and child-led exploration. You'll mentor a small team, build relationships with families, and help shape the experience children have with Grounded.

  • Oversee all outdoor after-school groups at your school site

  • Support and mentor a team of animateurs and animatrices

  • Read the energy of the group and shape the afternoon as it unfolds

  • Halifax Region - Lower Sackville, Dartmouth, Porters Lake

  • Approximately 2:00–5:30 PM, Monday to Friday

  • $21–25/hr - paid training provided

After-School Assistant
(French Speaking)

Support children in nature-based after-school programming, helping create a safe, playful environment where kids can explore, move, and connect with the outdoors.

  • Facilitate outdoor after-school activities for groups of 15–30 children

  • Follow the children's lead - spark curiosity, join in games, introduce challenges

  • Work as part of a two-person team per group

  • Halifax Region - Lower Sackville, Dartmouth, Porters Lake

  • Approximately 2:00–5:30 PM, Monday to Friday

  • $17–21/hr - paid training provided

Serve on Our Board

Our board guides the direction of Grounded and helps ensure children's well-being stays at the centre of everything we do. We welcome community members who share our values and want to contribute their skills and experience.

  • Guide the direction and growth of Coureurs d'la Forêt and SDEC

  • Support the development of high-quality, nature-based programs for francophone children in Nova Scotia

  • Help build community partnerships and expand program access

  • Monthly meetings - remote or in person

  • Open to individuals with backgrounds in education, community development, law, finance or nonprofit management
